Plain-language summary of how SteadySignal (operated by BikeFit Europe) handles your data. Training and recovery data can reveal things about your health, so we treat all of it as sensitive by default under the GDPR, including its Article 9 rules for health data.

What we collect

Your account email, the ride files and activity data you upload or sync (Strava, Wahoo, .FIT), your daily check-ins (recovery, sleep, energy, mood), and any training context you add — goals, events, notes. If you connect a device or platform, we store the tokens needed to keep that connection alive.

How the AI coach uses your data

Before anything reaches the AI model, your data is reduced to a minimised numeric snapshot: power and load numbers, recovery scores, session summaries. It contains no name, no email, no free-text notes. Health-adjacent signals are collapsed to coarse flags (for example "a recent low-recovery day exists: yes/no") — never medication names, symptoms or body-composition values.

The model is instructed to reason only from that snapshot and to say so when your data cannot answer a question. AI requests are processed by Anthropic (Claude) as a processor; we do not use your data to train models.

Consent — and taking it back

AI features run only after you explicitly turn them on in your profile. You can revoke that consent at any time; from that moment no further data is sent for AI processing. Everything else in SteadySignal keeps working without it.

Storage, retention and export

Your data lives on our own European infrastructure. Backups are encrypted before they leave our servers. Your ride and health data is yours: you can export your sessions, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data entirely.

Who else touches data (sub-processors)

Stripe (payments — we never see your card number), Anthropic (AI processing of the minimised snapshot, with your consent), and — only if you connect them — Strava, Wahoo and Hammerhead for activity sync and workout push. No advertising or analytics trackers.
